On Tuesday, January 9, the decisive and last match of the T20 series was played between India Women and Australia Women’s team at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. With this match, Australian captain Alyssa Healy got her name registered in history. She has become the first Australian, male or female, to play 150 T20 International matches.

Alyssa Healy achieved this important feat in the last T20I and has joined the list along with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur (160 matches), New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (152 matches) and England’s Danny Wyatt (151).

Alyssa Healy performed brilliantly in her 150th T20 match. She scored 55 runs in just 38 balls, with the help of which Australia women’s team defeated India by seven wickets. With this victory, the visiting team won the three-match T20 series 2-1.

Great opening partnership between Healy and Beth Mooney

In the match, the Indian team lost the toss and batted first and scored 147 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Australia achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in 18.4 overs. Annabel Sutherland was named player of the match for her excellent bowling.

Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney made an excellent opening partnership of 85 runs for the first wicket. After Healy’s dismissal, Mooney led Australia to victory with the help of Phoebe Lichfield (17*). Beth Mooney played an unbeaten inning of 52 runs, which included 5 fours.

Despite battling injuries, Healy scored 240 runs in 11 innings in 2023 at an average of 32 and an impressive strike rate of 133.75. The wicketkeeper-batsman is now ready for the T20 World Cup campaign to be held in Bangladesh in September. Alyssa Healy has made history by reaching 150 T20 International matches on the cricket field.
