Pakistan Cricket Team’s tour of Australia 2023-24, AUS vs PAK: A good news has emerged before the third and last Test match between Australia and Pakistan to be played at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 3.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed may regain match fitness for the third Test against Australia. Let us tell you, early last month, Abrar Ahmed suffered an injury in his right leg on the third day of the four-day Test match against Australia Prime Minister’s XI.

But now a report in ESPNcricinfo is claiming that Abrar Ahmed “bowled for a long time without any problem in the nets during Pakistan’s training session today on January 1, but given the nature of his injury, it is difficult to say.” Whether he will be able to participate in the SCG Test or not.”

The report of ESPNcricinfo also states that the nerve in Abrar Ahmed’s right leg is compressed and there is weakness in his muscles, due to which he is facing problems. He was also given injections during treatment.

Can Abrar Ahmed play in SCG Test?

But the issue now is how he feels after today’s training session. If Ahmed does not feel much pain or discomfort in the next hours, he can be selected in the playing eleven for the third match against Australia.

If Abrar is unable to regain match fitness, Pakistan will not risk him as the off-spinner is also part of the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. Pakistan has an option in the form of right-arm spinner Sajid Khan.
