Pakistan’s tour of Australia 2023-23, AUS vs PAK: Australia’s star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh (Mitchell Marsh) missed his century by just four runs at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan.

However, Mitchell Marsh’s inning of 96 runs played a big role in getting the Australian cricket team out of the difficult situation of 16/4. Marsh brought Australia back on track in the second innings with a vital partnership of 153 runs with Steve Smith (50). Thanks to half-centuries from Alex Carey, Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh, the Australian cricket team was able to post a score of 262 runs on the board in the second innings.

After which the Pakistan cricket team collapsed to 237 runs while chasing 317 runs to win at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Australia won the Boxing Day Test by 79 runs and won the home series. With this victory, Australia took a 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match Test series against Pakistan and now the last match of this series will be played at SCG from January 3.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Shafiq dropped a simple catch of Mitchell Marsh when he was batting on 20. The 32-year-old took advantage of the opportunity and played aggressive cricket, but unfortunately he missed out on his century after a brilliant catch by Salman Ali Aga. After the match, the Australian all-rounder, on the lifeline given by Abdullah Shafiq and then the chance of a century being snatched away from him by Salman Ali Aga, said that the game has a strange way of equalizing things.

Mitchell Marsh said during the post-match presentation: “I think a lot of people in this game say you need a bit of luck sometimes. Today my luck favored me a little and my catch was dropped, whereas a brilliant catch was taken with one hand to get me out, and KARMA has played its role in this. “It’s a fun way to even things out in this game of cricket.”
