Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the post of Selection Committee of the Senior National Men’s Team. However, this advertisement does not mention which selector will be replaced in the current selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar.

However, with this, speculations have started that Salil Ankola may be removed from the current selection committee, because the board does not want to keep two selectors from the West Zone in the selection committee. So the minimum eligibility to apply for this post is as follows.

These former players can apply for this post

The applicant must have played at least 7 Test matches and 30 First Class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 First Class matches. Apart from this, it should be five years since he retired from cricket. Also, he should not have worked for any cricket committee in the last five years.

However, no maximum age limit has been fixed for this post. Also, let us tell you that the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has been handling this responsibility ever since Chetan Sharma resigned from the post after a video went viral.

Apart from chief selector Ajit Agarkar, the current selection committee includes Salil Ankola, Subroto Banerjee, Shiv Sundar Das and S Sharath, who have not been able to make any good selection from the North Zone so far.

Well, now it will be interesting to see which current selector BCCI is going to replace. Apart from this, the last date for applications invited by BCCI for this post is 25th January.
