Due to preparations for T20 World Cup 2024, BCB may change the schedule of Test series against Zimbabwe

The top official of Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that a decision regarding this matter will be taken in the coming days.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering postponing the upcoming two-match Test series against Zimbabwe to ensure an early trip to the US and allow the team to get accustomed to the conditions there ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Let us tell you, for the first time West Indies and USA are organizing T20 World Cup together which will be played this year. The top official of Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that a decision regarding this matter will be taken in the coming days.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus told Cricbuzz, ‘It is not that we will postpone the 2-match Test series against Zimbabwe. We will definitely play this test series against them but a decision has to be taken as to when it will be organised.

Not only this, Bangladesh Premier League is starting from 19th January. After this tournament, Bangladesh has to play series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe at home.

Sri Lanka will also tour Bangladesh

Sri Lanka has to play a two-match Test series, 3-match ODI and three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe. After this, Zimbabwe will come to Bangladesh where a two-match Test and five-match T20 series will be played between these two teams in a month.

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is expected to arrive here on January 20. After this, BCB and Hathurusingha are expected to meet and make their plans regarding T20 World Cup 2024.

In 2018, Bangladesh played a match against West Indies in Florida. There are many players in the current team who were not part of that tour. Zimbabwe is currently playing a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. After this, a three-match T20 series will also be played between these two teams.
