Former legendary Pakistani player Wasim Akram has recently made a big revelation regarding bowling against Sanju Samson. During a conversation, Akram told how he had broken Sanju’s stump with an inswinger ball.

Let us tell you that Wasim Akram was the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders from 2010 to 2016. During this period, KKR also won two trophies. Wasim Akram, during a conversation with Sportskeeda, said that there used to be a shortage of bowlers during the camp, due to which he himself would often go to the nets to bowl. During this time, 16 year old Sanju Samson encountered him.
Wasim Akram told, ‘I think this incident happened in 2010. I remember KKR had a black kit in 2010. In 2011 she changed to purple. We organized a camp before the IPL. Not at Eden Gardens, but at another ground, so only a few bowlers were available for the camp. Sanju Samson was a very shy boy when he came to bat. He remained calm and his wicket-keeping skills were very good. Then he also came to bat.
Wasim Akram further said, ‘So, I took the ball, and I hope you remember that Sanju. I beat him with some outswingers. I was also young at that time. The third ball I bowled an inswinger and uprooted his stumps. After getting him out, I also sent him off. Wasim Akram further said that he had realized then that Sanju Samson would become a big player in future.
Sanju Samson was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders before IPL 2012. But he did not get a chance to play and was released before the 2013 season.
