Franchise league cricket has grown rapidly in recent times. Many international players want to play in franchise league cricket and want to play an important role in the victory of their team by performing well. There are many players who have terminated their central contracts with the national team and now their focus remains only on franchise leagues tournaments.

Many former players are not liking the fact that star players are focusing more on franchise leagues cricket instead of playing for the international team. Now former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has presented his side regarding this matter.

According to Venkatesh Prasad, franchise cricket has overtaken Test cricket and he is feeling very bad seeing this. Let us tell you, South Africa has recently announced its team for the Test series against New Zealand in which seven uncapped players have been included. This is because senior players will be seen playing in the SA20 league to be held in South Africa.

A user on ‘X’ asked Venkatesh Prasad a question, ‘What would you like to say on the fact that South Africa has sent its third grade team in the Test series against New Zealand? Has taste become luxury?’

Venkatesh Prasad gave a brilliant answer

On this Venkatesh Prasad said, ‘This is a very bad thing. Franchise cricket has overtaken Test cricket in importance. I hope this doesn’t happen again.

South Africa is currently playing a Test series against the Indian team and after this they have to tour New Zealand where two Test matches will be played. The first test match is starting from 4th February while the second will be played from 13th February.
