Today i.e. on 18th April, in a spectacular match of the Indian Premier League 2024 played in Chandigarh, Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs. In this match, all the players from Mumbai Indians performed very well and played an important role in the victory of their team. On behalf of Punjab Kings, Ashutosh Sharma batted very well and scored an important half-century for his team but he failed to give victory to the hosts.

Let us tell you, Mumbai Indians had a very bad start in this match and Ishan Kishan was out after scoring 8 runs. However, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav batted brilliantly and added 81 runs for the second wicket. While on one hand Rohit Sharma played an important inning of 36 runs in 25 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes, on the other hand Suryakumar Yadav played a stormy inning of 78 runs in 53 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Suryakumar Yadav did not spare any bowler of Punjab Kings and hit hard against all of them. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma also batted very well and played an unbeaten inning of 34* runs in 18 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Hardik Pandya contributed 10 runs while Tim David played an inning of 14 runs.

For Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel took three wickets for 31 runs in four overs, while captain Sam Curran took two wickets for 41 runs in four overs. Kagiso Rabada took one wicket.

Ashutosh Sharma played a brilliant half-century innings for Punjab Kings.

Punjab Kings, who came to chase the target, did not have such a good start and they lost their four important wickets in just 14 runs. Not only this, the fifth wicket of the team fell at 49 runs. On behalf of Punjab Kings, young batsman Ashutosh Sharma played an excellent inning of 61 runs in 28 balls with the help of 2 fours and 7 sixes but he failed to lead his team to victory.

Not only this, Harpreet Brar also contributed 21 runs while Shashank Singh played a valuable inning of 41 runs. For Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee took 3 wickets each while captain Hardik Pandya, Akash Madhwal and Shreyas Gopal took one wicket each. Punjab Kings scored 183 runs losing all the wickets in 19.1 overs and lost the match by 9 runs.
