Players in contention for ICC Player of the Month Award for December 2023 announced

Two Indian women players have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month Award.

International Cricket Council (ICC)ICC) today on January 8 revealed the shortlist of contenders for the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for December 2023. Australia captain and star fast bowler Pat Cummins, Bangladesh’s star spinner Taijul Islam and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for the month of December.

On the other hand, in the women’s category, Zimbabwe’s experienced bowler Precious Maranj, India’s young batsman Jemimah Rodrigues and star all-rounder Deepti Sharma have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month Award. In the shortlist of ICC Men’s Player of the Month, players who performed brilliantly in the major matches of the World Test Championship last month have been selected.

Pat Cummins could win his first Player of the Month award

Let us tell you, Pat Cummins took 13 wickets in two test matches against Pakistan, and he can win his first Player of the Month award. Bangladesh’s experienced left-arm spinner Taijul Islam has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for the first time for taking 15 wickets in 2 Test matches against New Zealand. At the same time, Glenn Phillips had scored 120+ runs in Bangladesh, and took five wickets.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe’s experienced bowler Precious Maranj performed brilliantly in the Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier. Precious Maranj took three wickets for 13 runs against Tanzania, then took three wickets for 9 runs against Namibia, before he took five wickets for 7 runs in the final against Uganda in the tournament.

Deepti Sharma is in the race

Jemimah Rodrigues performed brilliantly in the Test series against England and Australia, for which she has been nominated, while Deepti Sharma scored 87 runs and took 9 wickets in the only Test against England. He scored 78 runs and took 2 wickets in the one-off Test against England, and took five wickets in the second ODI.
