Indian cricket team’s experienced batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has made a strong case for his comeback in Test cricket by scoring a record double century in Ranji Trophy. Pujara, playing for Saurashtra against Jharkhand in Rajkot, scored his 17th double century in first-class cricket during a Ranji Trophy match.

Pujara scored his 17th century in first class cricket
With his 17th double century, Pujara moved into joint fourth place with Herbert Sutcliffe and Mark Ramprakash in the list of most double centuries in first-class cricket. Sir Donald Bradman tops this list with 37 double centuries and England’s Wally Hammond is at second place with 36 double centuries.

This was Cheteshwar Pujara’s 61st century in first class cricket, apart from this he has also scored 77 half-centuries. Pujara also played List A cricket for Saurashtra in November-December 2023, but his performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was not good.
