Mohammed Shami’s brother Mohammed Kaif has wreaked havoc with the ball in Ranji Trophy 2024. Playing for Bengal, Mohammad Kaif bowled brilliantly against Uttar Pradesh and took 4 wickets for just 14 runs in 5.5 overs. Thanks to his lethal bowling, Bengal has restricted the UP team to just 60 runs.

The Group B match of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 is being played between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal at the Greenpark Stadium in Kanpur from today. In the match, Bengal won the toss and invited Uttar Pradesh to bat first. However, the UP team was all out for 60 runs in the 21st over.

No batsman from UP could stand against the deadly bowling of Bengal, especially Mohammad Kaif. Kaif killed four batsmen with his precise and consistent bowling. Apart from this, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal took 3 wickets, while Ishan Porel took 2 wickets.

No batsman from Uttar Pradesh could even touch the figure of 15 runs. Samarth Singh scored the maximum 13 runs. Apart from this, Aryan Jewel and captain Nitish Rana scored 11-11 runs respectively.

Who is Mohammed Kaif?

Mohammed Kaif is the younger brother of Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami. He was born on 10 December 1996 in Amroha. He is a right-arm medium pacer and also knows how to bat.

Before Ranji Trophy, he had played 9 List A matches. In 9 innings of these matches, Mohammad Kaif has taken 12 wickets at an average of 26.33. Apart from this, 23 runs have been scored in 5 innings. This is Kaif’s first Ranji Trophy season. He made his debut in Bengal’s first match against Andhra.
