What did you learn from WPL?

Alyssa Healy: The Women’s Premier League opened my eyes to what it’s like to be an Indian cricketer. We used to come here and play against the Indian team like the Australian team. With the Women’s Premier League came a new identity as men’s and women’s cricket. We also get to learn a lot from Indian players.

What is the cultural difference between India and Australia?

Alyssa Healy: We love sports in Australia. We don’t think too much about just one game. We love our athletes a lot. Cricketers are considered celebrities in India and Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are billboards. Seeing all this has opened my eyes.

What would you like to say about the big bid for husband Mitchell Starc in IPL?

Alyssa Healy: I was in the gym preparing for the Test match at the time of the auction. It was a bit of a surprise to me when such a big bid came in on them. This was really a huge amount.
